International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day

March 8, 2021

We are pleased to join people in our community and communities around the world in this year’s observance of International Women’s Day. The day has been celebrated by the United Nations since 1977 but International Women’s Day first marked the labor movements in North America and Europe at the turn of the century.

International Women’s Day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. Since those early years, International Women’s Day has assumed a new global dimension for women in developed and developing countries alike.
