The Tennessee World Affairs Council is proud to be a member of the 90+ network of councils around the United States that work to bring global affairs awareness to our communities.

The World Affairs Councils of America, the hub of the network, offers numerous programs that benefit the individual councils and the communities they serve. This is one of them.

2020 Qatar Essay/Video Contest

THE World Affairs Councils of America (WACA) is announcing the 2020 Qatar Essay/Video Contest.
The submission deadline for students is just two and a half weeks away.

This is a great opportunity to win a trip to Doha, Qatar, in March!

Open to college and university undergraduate students across the country, the challenge is to submit an 800-word Memorandum OR a 5-minute Video to “Advise the Secretary of State: Measures to Strengthen the U.S.-Qatar Strategic Partnership.”
A panel of educators and experts in student exchange programs will judge the entries.
The top 10 contestants will win:
  • An all-expenses-paid Doha Study Tour this March 13-20!
  • Contest winners will also be eligible for scholarships to attend the WACA 2020 National Conference in Washington, DC on November 18-20, 2020.
