Deborah (Deb) Monroe Volunteer Staff Officer, TNWAC Senior Defense Intelligence Officer (Retired)

Ms. Monroe currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee where she volunteers with the Tennessee World Affairs Council and is active in the local community. Prior to her retirement in June 2021, Ms. Monroe served as an intelligence officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) for 26 years. Her last assignment was as the Senior US Defense Liaison Officer at Royal Air Force Base Wyton, UK Ministry of Defence, Directorate for Intelligence. 

Her professional career includes serving as the Senior Intelligence Officer for the Information Review Task Force (IRTF) assessing the impact of the compromise classified information on Department of Defense (DoD) Intelligence and Operations capabilities; Deputy Chief of the Middle East and North Africa Office, and as the Deputy Director for the Middle East and Africa Regional Center; Acting-Chief of the Defense Intelligence Open Source Program Office; Deputy Chief of the  Counterproliferation Support Office); Executive Assistant to VADM Jake Jacoby, Director, DIA; and in a variety of positions in the Joint Chiefs of Staff Directorate for Intelligence, J2.

Ms. Monroe’s civilian awards include: Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Exceptional Achievement Medal; DIA Director’s Award; DIA Award for Exceptional Civilian Service; and the DoD Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Role Model Award.

Ms. Monroe received an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the US Naval War College in 1999; an MBA from St. Ambrose University in 1994; and a BS in Journalism from Texas A&M University in 1987.  

Jill Kolin

Jill is a Global Human Resources professional with over 14 years of experience.  The majority of her career has been with Deloitte, working as a Senior Manager, helping clients design and administer their Global Mobility Programs.  During her time at Deloitte, Jill spent 2 years in Hyderabad, India helping to train, mentor and lead local professionals.  Jill most recently worked as a Consultant for Nissan North America.

Jill has focused on her family after her twin sons were born, however, she is now getting back to work activities outside of the home.  She enjoys spending time with her family traveling and going to concerts with her sons.  Jill has an MA in Organizational Development from the University of Minnesota.  She also has a BA in International Studies and Spanish from the University of Dayton.  She currently serves as the Social Chair for the Nashville Alumni Chapter of the University of Dayton. Currently she is a staff volunteer, coordinating the TNWAC activities in schools.

Sebastian Trevino Lopez

Sebastian Trevino Lopez is an International Business Student at Belmont University. Born and raised in Austin, Texas, Sebastian hopes to use his head for business and passion for sustainability to help better the world.

Rose Kores

My name is Rose Kores, and I am a senior Political Science and Spanish double major and Honors student at Belmont University. Many of my interests revolve around policy evaluation, foreign affairs, and government relations. After graduation, I intend to further my education by perusing an advanced degree in public policy and administration. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Tennessee World Affairs Council and I am committed to promoting the council’s mission by assisting with administrative needs, council meetings, and program promotion.
