The Tennessee World Affairs Council organized a town hall meeting with Japan’s Consul-General Masami Kinefuchi and distinguished US-Japan relations scholar Dr. James Auer on February 23rd to discuss US-Japan security ties. Among the issues discussed in this important topic area was the dispute over islands claimed by China and Japan. This week “The Economist” published an excellent videographic briefing on “Is China Trying to Expand Its Territory?” We are bringing this presentation to you today to continue to illuminate this important conversation begun at the town hall.
