Join us on October 26th with Shanna Hughey, President of ThinkTennessee, for a discussion of cyber security and the 2018 election cycle.
“Vote Strong, Tennessee”
As the state that ranks #49 in voter turnout and #45 in voter registration, Tennessee’s civic infrastructure needs an update. This presentation will discuss the threats facing our elections, from low voter confidence to increasing foreign influence, and how states are fighting back. It will also demonstrate how public policy and community engagement can strengthen Tennessee’s civic future.

About Ms. Shanna Hughey
Shanna Singh Hughey is the president of ThinkTennessee. Previously, she was a senior advisor to Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and the director of the Mayor’s Office of New Americans. She has also served as nominations counsel on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, a lawyer at O’Melveny & Myers and press secretary to U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow.
Shanna’s work in her community includes serving on the board of the Nashville Chapter of the American Constitution Society, Girls on the Run and Impact Nashville. She is a member of the 2018-19 Leadership Tennessee Class and a 2017 graduate of Tennessee Bar Association Leadership Law.
Shanna graduated with honors from The George Washington University Law School and The University of Michigan.
