Our “Global Eats” events offer a unique cultural and culinary experience that brings the world to your plate. Join us as we explore authentic cuisines from around the globe at local restaurants featuring rich and exotic flavors. These events go beyond dining, offering rich conversations about the featured country’s history, culture, and traditions, often with guest speakers or cultural demonstrations. Led by a host country representative, “Global Eats” is the perfect blend of food, culture, and learning, providing a delightful way to connect with diverse perspectives while enjoying a shared meal with fellow globally-minded individuals.
** Dinner will be served family-style. Your $40 ticket includes an appetizer, soup, main entree, and gratuity. Registration closes November 9th.**
Tabeer Taabur
As President of The Tennessee Kurdish Community Council since 2021, Tabeer has been involved with the Council’s efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of the Kurdish people and educate the public about the Kurds and Kurdistan through various programs. He is an activist and undertakes advocacy for his community.
Tabeer, who has experience promoting the integration of his community members into mainstream America, currently serves on the Mayor’s New Americans Advisory Council, which has developed Metro initiatives to empower New Americans. Tabeer holds a BS and MS in Criminal Justice from Tennessee State University.
