TENNESSEE “WORLDQUEST” – YAZOO GLOBAL CUP
The World Affairs Council is pleased to announce the First Annual Championship of WorldQuest For Corporate/Association/Group Teams and Young Professionals is set for Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the Yazoo Brewing Company taproom in Nashville. Ten four-person teams representing their groups will vie for the prestigious WorldQuest-Yazoo Cup.
A FUNDRAISER FOR GLOBAL AFFAIRS AWARENESS IN OUR SCHOOLS
The match is a fundraiser for the Academic WorldQuest program, a year-round educational outreach to encourage students to “know the world.” WorldQuest teams compete in February for the State Championship title, with the top team winning a trip to Washington, D.C. to represent Tennessee in the national match in April. WorldQuest is designed to educate and inspire high school students to follow world events and dive deep into global awareness study materials — giving them an understanding of international issues, developments and challenges.
LIMIT – TEN TEAMS.
Topics
Ten multiple choice questions from eight categories. Not too easy. Not too hard. Just right.
- Global Nashville – what is it about Music City that makes it an international village?
- Who’s Hometown – celebrities on the American scene who started somewhere else
- On the Map – were you paying attention in Miss Smith’s 5th grade Geography class?
- World Leaders – the good, the bad and the ugly
- Capture the Flag – were you paying attention at the Rio parade of flags?
- Global Bucket List – ID pics of your favorite international spots
- What in the World News – current events
- Wide World of Sports – international sports figures and events
[If you follow @TNWAC #TNWACquiz between September 1 and November 1 you just might get some hints.]
Eight rounds of ten questions is all that stands between you and your co-workers becoming the inaugural Tennessee WorldQuest Yazoo Corporate Cup Champions.
Yazoo Taproom Manager Alan Fey and World Affairs Council President Pat Ryan have your cup ready.
What’s Included
- One and only WorldQuest Championship Cup to take home to the office for year round admiring looks from co-workers.

All profits go to support the education outreach programs of the Tennessee World Affairs council — a nonpartisan educational nonprofit that works to educate and inspire people in the community, especially students to know more about the world. The primary focus of the fundraiser is to cover the expenses for the annual Academic WorldQuest program — a competition for high school students from across Tennessee including all expenses for the championship team’s travel to Washington for the national competition in April.
